Did A Black Haitian Ex-Slave Immigrant From New Orleans Rebuild San Francisco in 6 years after the 1906 Earthquake? The Edison of Bernal Heights
I am now officially 100% on Mission, in the The Mission and on a mission. Exciting news in the last week. Major breakthroughs in all areas. True serendipity. What treasures you find when you least expect it, when you aren't even looking: the power of intent. "God is alive; Magic is afoot" as Buffy St. Marie sang it. Ecopoetics is not a literary style. It's a way of knowing, a way of being, a way of "seeing." It's how the multiverse gets things done. We have an advantage most matter doesn't, we have hands and we can move.
As for the tease? I can prove it. And there couldn't be a better time for it. Chronicle Books? Oprah Winfrey. It's a story I will love to tell.

I'm waiting for the proof! I love the idea linking ex Haitian slave, earthquake rebuilding, US history. Did God or the gods punish San Francisco, did the devil do that to your city?
He wrote a book in 1905 that he hoped would help the world by guiding people away from their varying conceptions of what God is (and subsequent wars) in order to focus on what "nature" does: scientifically. He believed the dead could communicate with the living and that he could prove--scientifically.
Before you think the book is all heebie jeebie, my brother who is reading it now says this man anticipated problems like the accelerator and braking problems, where it speeds up instead of brake. He invented the air brake; something to do with condensation somewhere and he warns that it could happen. But, the books and all copies of it except what he filed in the Library of Congress were destroyed in the quake, or rather, the dynamite.
Oh yeah, thanks for visiting, M. And, uh, what's with the chicken?
it's a rooster. a long, sad tale of growing up thinking you're just one of the girls then one day you crow and the next day you're in the animal shelter awaiting adoption. no heebie jeebie. the spirits, the cucui, is real. science has nothing to offer on the subject, however. i visit silently frequently.
Well, so much for official. It seems even if you have a lease & the keys you don't have a contract. I'm still looking...
