Lorna,

Sorry if I offend with the "Tortilla Style," but it's one of my pet peeves--got it stuffed down my throat in grad school. Yes, I eat tortillas almost every day. That doesn't mean I need to write about them.

The cat site is funny. So are cats in sombreros.

I don't know how to take the baby pic--that "New Sincerity" is childish? Perhaps. But at least I try to be honest.

Why do you want to crit my poems?

Tony

follow the link: "A visual representation of my poetics. . .I do not believe in the pretty, tidy bundles of poetry that are so neatly packaged and framed. I believe that my son, Eliot (above), has it right- but pretend the peas are nouns and the carrots are verbs. But take into consideration, also, that a lot of food did actually make it into his mouth and will be digested. It's all poetry." ~Mackenzie Carignan

Is that not the "School of New Sincerity?" And as for spewing shit (SONS Manifesto) nobody does it better.

point is, Mackenzie's point is brilliant

extremely offensive-ist

I know you're a latent tortilla eater—the only reason I'm offering to help sand your planks.

Chale with your plank-sanding. I can manage quite well by myself.

Please see my comments today, Sat., 23, on Tony's blog regarding his defining an entire literary movement out of opposition to what he dismisses as the "Tortilla Style" of poetry.

& I'm quite sincere as to "peas & carrots" style standing as another metaphor for the The New Sincerists--but let us not ignore the function of the bib. These things can get so literal, the Sincerist's doppelganger.

And, please consider Reyes Cardenas when it comes to the perfect dance between sincerity and irony in the New Age of Treason.

Btw, none of these comments apply to Tony, whom I rather sincerely admire as a thinker. (Treason, applies to the current regime trashing The US Constitution, language, the meaning of which, I'm decidedly fond.) I feel I have to spell these things out or risk being taken the opposite way than what i intend, the risk one runs (from) as a New Ironist as opposed to Ironer.
