Taking Stock

So far this year, 2008, I've gotten a divorce (finalized), bought a house, fell in love, fell out of love, fell back in love, quit drinking (no brainer, I hardly drink anyway), quit smoking (yeah, I know), applied for a job in a totally different field, finished an 80 page book and published it. Now what? Year of the Rat has hardly even begun. Time for the new. Time for re-beginnings. And, you?

Hello Lorna:

We missed you in NYC at AWP. Perhaps next year in Chicago. Speaking of Chicago, we are all very excited about your scheduled reading there on April 16 as part of the PALABRA PURA series, in partnership with the Poetry Foundation. As I'm sure you, know, you'll be joined by Rigoberto Gonzalez.

The Windy City awaits.

So far this year I've caught a cold, gotten (pretty much) over it, I've finished three or four poems, finished a poetry book manuscript I started working on something like 18 years ago, I've stood at the bus stop on mornings when it was 13 below (the snow on the ground creaks like metal when you walk on it, the air feels like it's biting you with millions of tiny mouths), I've been to two poetry readings, I've listened to a recording of Nazim Hikmet reading his poems in Turkish, and I didn't go to AWP because, well, you know.

Clearly you've been a little busier than I have, but then we already knew that, no?

Early word is that the folks in Albuquerque are going ahead with plans for another cultural festival this year, Labor Day weekend again. I already want to go.

Amid all of the changes and wonder and miracles both unearthly and commonplace, I hope you're doing well.

As a sign of gratitude for how my wife was saved from myeloma, i decided to reach out to those still suffering from this.
My wife suffered myeloma in the year 2016 and it was really tough and heartbreaking for me because she was my all and the symptoms were terrible, she always complain of bone pain, and she always have difficulty falling asleep . we tried various therapies prescribed by our neurologist but none could cure her. I searched for a cure and i saw a testimony by someone who was cured and so many other with similar body problem, and they left the contact of this doctor who had the cure to myeloma .
